In a double knock out affair of 8 teams, Port Perry placed fourth. The first game of the day was against Elmira who won the Pee Wee "C" championship last year Chris Jones pitched the entire game giving up 9 hits while striking out 9. Chris's control _ was perfect as he gave up no walks This game defense came in the name of Scott Jeffrey. Playing centre field, Scott made 5 catches and made some quick throws into the infield to stop runners from advancing. In the second he made a long run to track down a ball In the third he made a nice ¢atch ang throw to second base to freeze a runner and in the fourth he made a diving catch for the out. In the seventh Scott made a sliding catch on one knee for the final out. Scott also picked up 5 RBIs as he hit a bases loaded homer and scored on a single by Jon Froats. Great game Scott. Other hits in the game went to Ryan Hawkins with 2 singles, Derek Tindall a triple, Jeff Ashton a double and Brad Monsma with a single. Ryan Moynes did his job well at third base and laid down the perfect bunt to sacrifice himself to advance a runner. Final score 7- 3 for Port. The second game of-the day was against Campbellford and Clay Brown took to the mound for this one. In the top of the inning we scored 3 runs and were on a bit of a high as we only allowed them 1 run. In the second inning Clay ran into a bit of difficulty with his control and the guys made a couple of mental errors. Jon Frodts came on in relief but by the end of the inning Campbellford was ahead 5-3. In a combined effort Jon and Clay gave up 8 hits, 4 walks and struck out 4 Cambellford picked up 2 more runs in the third and Port picked up a run in the fourth to keep the score close at 7-4.
