MoJacks open Junior C season this Sunday night The Port Perry MoJacks will get down to real business this Sunday evening (Oct. 2) at the Scugog Arena when they open another Central Junior C Hockey season. MoJacks opening night opponents (game time 7:00 PM) will be the Georgina Ice, the new entry in the Central League this year. MoJacks are wrapping up a month of pre-season training camp with an exhibition game in Schomberg Sept. 27 and a final three hour practise this Thursday night at the Arena. General manager Murray Parliament said the club has filled out its roster with one important decision left to be made: who will be the second goaltender with Rick Hutchinson. MoJacks put a couple of wins on the board in exhibition play last week. They out-scored the Bowmanville Eagles 10-7 in a shoot-out in Bowmanville Sept. 20. And two nights later at the Scugog Arena, came up with a 4- 8 victory over rival Uxbridge Bruins. lan Titterton, Steve Laird, and Mike Pigeau did the scoring in the first two periods, while veteran Gavin Cochrane found the range in the final frame for what proved to be the winner. Jeff Parry chipped in with a couple of assists. For the Bruins, Gerry Catherwood, Paul Charboneau and Kevin Taylor got the goals. Faceoff for the MoJack Sunday night home games has been moved ahead this season to 7:00 PM. Team officials are hoping this earlier start time will boost to bring their children to the games and still get them home at a reasonable hour.
