LA -- Scugog Citizen~- Tuesda; b. 29, 1994 Police officer hurt making arrests A Durham Region Police officer suffered back injuries that kept him off work in a scuffle Sunday evening as he arrested two men in the Test Hill area of Scugog Township. A 26 Division spokesman said P.C. Gary Branton suffered injuries to his lower back in the incident which began about 5:00 PM Sunday as he investigated a report of a burning vehicle in a field near the Boundary Road. A police spokesman said a four- wheel drive open-sided truck went past P.C. Branton's cruiger at a high rate of speed and a short while later, the truck struck the front of the cruiser.
