"If you get any bigger your suit won't fit and neither will you!" Santa listened, but he was so busy, he didn't notice that he was eating all the time. A nibble here, a nibble there try this or that from the elves. Then Christmas Eve arrived and Santa's suit wouldn't fit. "Oh no!" said Mrs. Claus. "Only Santa can drive the reindeer, and if his magic suit won't fit, he will never get down the chimneys. What will we do?" Just then one of Santa's elves walked in. " I heard you all sobbing in here" he said, "and I came to see what was the matter. You know it's Christmas Eve and you should be getting on your way." "That's the problem" exclaimed Mrs. Claus. "Santa ate too many Christmas cookies and now he can't fit into his magic suit. Without his magic suit he can't get down the chimneys." "Oh! I see you've got a real problem." replied the elf. He thought a bit then his eyes lit up. "I could take Santa's place. I've ridden with Santa so many times I've memorized where each child lives." "Are you sure you want to take on such a responsibility?" asked Mrs. Claus. "Sure" said the elf. "I love making children happy so that would be the perfect job for me. Santa can come with me and drive the sleigh, since I don't Dear Santa by Matthew Kanabe Grade 3 R.H. Cornish P.S. Dear Santa, How is it at the North Pole? I'll leave you some cookies and milk. Do you want help getting on the suit?" asked Mrs. Claus. "No, I can do it myself," replied" the elf. "OK, here's the suit. You put it on and Il go tell Santa about our new arrangements," said Mrs. Claus. Now, there is something very special about Santa's Magic suit that not everybody knows. If you are smaller than Santa's suit size, it will automatically adjust to your size when you put it on. But if you're bigger than the suit, you're out of luck. Also, after one night it returns to it's original size. When the elf put on Santa's suit, it automatically adjusted to his size. Now he was all ready to go. He went downstairs to show off the good fit, but could not find anybody. He looked around and finally spotted them outside in the yard. "All ready to go buddy old pal?" called out Santa as he lead the elf to the sleigh and boosted him onto the seat. Santa, wearing a warm jacket, a hat, mittens and shiny black boots hopped in beside him. All of a sudden the sleigh jolted forward and everyone waved goodbye. First they went to Cindy's house, then Jay's. When they had finished delivering all the presents, Santa guided the sleigh back to the North Pole. Mrs. Claus and Santa both agreed that the little elf made a Christmas! We're so happy to have you as our customers and friends.
