vii 2 wp 2 -- Scugog Citizen -- Wednesdam, Tol 1995 fon hydro bill up about 80 cents/month The average hydro bill for residents 1 and commercial customérs in the Scugog Commission will be going up less than $1 per month in 1995. The average residential customer (using 1,000'kWh per month) will pay $81.93 monthly for hydro this year, up from $81.08 in 1994. The average commercial customer using the same amount 1,000 kWh monthly will pay $8568, up from $84.83 last year. This increase of slightly over 1 per cent, coupled with a zero increase last year, will help keep the cost of hydro from the Scugog CommiBsion among the lowest of some 300 utilities across Ontario, said manager Terry Adderley last week. There was no increase for 1995 in the cost Ontario Hydro charges utilities for power. Mr . Adderley said the slight increase to utility customers is necessary because the Commission's mérgin has been shrinking for 'the last three years. The margin ,is the difference between what Ontario Hydro charges and what Health Council chair resigns The Durham Region District Health Council (DHC) announced December 22 that Dr. Amy Goldwater, Chair of the District Health Council, has resigned her position due to heavy workloads and family pressures. And, he said, while Ontario Hydro is not charging more for power this year, a lot of services (administrative- financial) that used to be handled by Hydro have been passed on to local utilities. Scugog Hydro has about 2200 residential/commercial million annually for their power. Despite what Mr. Adderley called the shrinking margin, the local utility plans to spend $112,000 this year to replace lines along Simcoe ' Street between Bay and MacDonald Streets. There will be no increase in several fees charged by the utility for such things as sentinel lights, late payment, NSF cheques, connection, or reconnection of service. However, there will be slight increases in the charge for service calls. And change of occupancy will be $8.80 this year and an arrears certificate will be $12.70.
