The doctors have not made a decision on shut-downs, Dr. Bill Cohoon at Medical Associates said on Monday. He added the doctors will be meeting early next month and a decision would most likely be made at that time. If they decide to shut the offices for three days, Dr. Cohoon said they will give patients ample notice ahead of the closings. The Ontario A iation has r to its members that they close their. offices April 5, 17 and 28 to comply with the Social Contract. Commenting on the issue of health care costs in Ontario, Dr. Cohoon suggested the province should bring in fees for those who use emergency departments when they could see a physician at the office. "It's a lot cheaper to see a doctor in the office than in emergency," he said, adding people are showing up in ' emergency departments on the weekend for treatment of Medical ded residents of the Blackstock area. | "One of the things | find most challenging about my work is the long hours it some- times requires. In this business the phone can ring any time of the day or night. Our families expect us to be there when they need us. It's not something | mind, though. 1 feel, it's my duty to make a painful time as easy as possible. Families can turn to me for sypport and reassurance." Nell and Noreen Malcolm celebrated thelr 50th wedding anniversary with their family and friends last Sunday at their Blackstock home. The couple were married 50 years aga on March 10 at Brooklin United Church. They are long time minor ailments because they don't want to take time off work on Monday for an office appointment with their physician.
