An excellent meal was provided by Judy's Catering, and the First Whitby Rovers, a group of scouting enthusiasts aged 18 to 26, entertained . those in attendance with two slide shows about various aspects of scouting. CITIZEN MOVING! That's right! After four years in publication the Scugog Citizen will be moving to larger premises. But we're not moving far! Our new address will be 54 WATER STREET, Port Perry, in the next plaza to the north of our present location. Moving day will be Wednesday, May 31st, 1995, so please bear with us because that day will be a bear! Thanks for all your encouragement and patronage during our first four years. We couldn't have done it without you! » A number of presentations were made to those individuals who have assisted First Scugog throughout the year. At the present time, there are ten adults serving as leaders to the Beavers, Cubs gnd Scouts. A small gift was presented, along with service pins, to Delia Taylor, Wayne Wilson and Chris Geer from Beavers, Dave Tomlinson, Dave Leggat, Kathy Moore and Paul Mark from the Cub Pack, and Baul Marlow, Ross Dales and Trevor Jones from the Scout Troop. A "Warrant of Appointment" was presented to Scouter Paul Mark by District Commissioner Ross Taylor. This ceftificate is in recognition of Scouter Paul's completion of his part one Woodbadge and his commitment as a leader during the past three years. Special thanks were aiso extended to Pat Stephens Lyn Wilson and Kelly Verydt for their dedication and service to the Group Committee. Parent Bev Bray was thanked for her outstanding effort as District Level Trees for Canada co- ordinator Marian (inn, the liason person from Manchester United Church, who are the sponsors of First Scugog Scouting, was acknowledged for her dedication in attending all Group Committee meetings during the year Nine Beavers were presented with a special memento of their excursion to the Skydome last fall, which marked the 20th Anniversary of Beavers in Canada. Théy are Chris Jackson, Andrew Leggat, Robert Mark, Ryan Cleyndart, Stewart Medford, Michael Wilson, Kyle Jones and Brian Taylor. Andrew Drebit was honoured as the recipient of the Cub of the Year Award. In his remarks during the presentation, Scouter Paul noted that this was his first year as a Cub leader, and that Andrew had been extremely helpful to him throughout the year. Greg Lansdell was chosen by his leaders as Scout of the Year. Greg 1s a third year Scout and a veteran of many activities including the 1993 Jamboree n Calgary. Both Andrew and Greg w: have their names engraved on the Tony Gosiin Menforial Plaque which occupies a place of honour at Manchester Church This plaque was donated by Tony's family in memory of their son, a Scout who died in a tragic accident a few years ago. . Registration for next year's Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will take place on Thursday, May 25 at Prince Albert United Church from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. These organizations have combined efforts under the auspices of = P.AR.T.S. rd a great crowd-pleaser, so this show, too, promises to continue that tradition with a medley of wonderful performances by local performers.
