Sing-a-thon a success It figures Lorne Hachey had completely lost his voice by late Sunday afternoon. The Blackstock country singer spent close to 72 hours (from Thursday evening to Sunday afternoon) in the Palmer Park gazebo singing and strumming to raise money for a four-year old Cookstown girl who is suffering from a rare form of cancer. Lorne figures he sang close to 800 songs over that time. And he figures the lack of sleep and the lost voice are worth it as the sing-a-thon raised almost $1500 for young Laura Varey and her family. He said he will still accept donations for Laura in the next week or so. Anyone who may have missed the sing-a-thon in Palmer Park can contact Lorne at 986-4140 for info on how to make a donation.
