Q z Citi -- Tuesday, June 6, 1995 -- 5 a. Seniors petition to have '0ld Mill! cleaned up Scugog council will take whatever steps are necessary to force the owner of a building in downtown Port Perry to clean up his property. "We (the Township) will use whatever tools are available to get action on this," administrator Earl Cuddie told councillors Monday afternoon. He suggested by the local fire department and the Ministry of the Environment could be called in to inspect the former Master Feeds building at the foot of Queen Street. The Port Perry Senior Citizens Club members, who use the Latch Centre i diately to the east of the property in question, presented council 'with a petition signed by over 80 people demanding the Township take action to get the "Old Mill" list of complaints about the building and property which includes debris and various old pieces of machinery, oil, grease and gas containers stored outside, metal roofing sheets which have come loose, grass that has not been trimmed, eave troughs that are falling down. . "On behalf of all citizens who use the Latcham Centre we ask the council take whatever steps are necessary to get this mess cleaned up and thus enhance the natural beauty of the setting and minimize risks to public health and safety," the petition states. Members of council agreed and have instructed Township staff to come up with an immediate report on what course of action the Township can take. "We all know it's a mess around there," said Mayor Hall, adding "this (situation) has gone on far too long and must be seriously looked at by the Township." 6th ANNUAL 'Port Perry Antique er Craft BR SATURDAY, JUNE 10th - 10 AM to 5 PM SUNDAY, JUNE 11th - 10 AM to 5PM At the Scugog Arena Featuring Over 60 Dealers Sponsored by the Arena Board INFORMATION : (905) 985-7346 or 985-8498 Beautiful Port Perry on the Shores of Lake Scugog ADM.: Adults $3.; Seniors $2.; Children $1.
