From Jan. 1 to the end of April, © there were 8,635 crimes against property, compared with 8,146 in the same period last year. Durham Police Chief Trevor McCagherty noted that calls for service to the police department are "inching up" as well. In 26 Division, which covers Scugog, Brock and Uxbridge Townships, the report shows that crimes against property declined this year to 730 from 803 in the same period in 1994.
