While the Club runs coémpetitive rowing programs for high school students throughout the year, these sessions are aimed at adults who would like to learn the basics of sliding seat rowing from a recreational or keep-fit perspective. The initial training sessions will include an introduction to rowing technique, safety aspects of the sport and an explanation of terminology used. A rowing ergometer will be used to teach Day camps offer fun for the kids Already into its third week, the Township of Scugog day camps rare heating up with some exciting activities. Currently boat launching is from the beach in Palmer Park but on July 25 it will move to north of main. the public boat launch, when the Club installs its new dock. This is close to the location for the Club's proposed boathouse. In the meantime,the boats are transported to the lake by boat trailer for each session. Equipment storage facilities are currently provided compliments of VanCamp Contracting Ltd. In the interests of safety, all participants in the program must be able to swim. The Recreation Department and the Scugog Shores Museum have combined their resources to offer this new and exciting camp.
