The week-end was very ful with attend just over 2,500 for the two day event. Vendors were very satisfied with the show and the flow of people. Sales were brisk and many vendors have already rebooked for next year's show. Visitors to the show were recorded from Holland, healthstyles deb mcdonald | Some groups of people have low incidences of fatal blood clotting associated with heart & artery disease. A food associated with this effect is hot peppers, as indicated by reports from Thailand, Mexico & Hungary, where these peppers are dietary staples. For example, Thai people eat hot peppers many times a day. Each time they eat them, a temporary anti clotting action takes place in their blood. This effect is due to the pungent property of capsaicin in hot peppers. Hot peppers have another interesting effect. Immediately after a person eats a meal spiced with them, the person's basal metabolic rate (BMR) rises by up to 65 per cent, whereas a meal alone raises BMR by only 40 percent. The increased rate continues for 3 hours or more. This makes a difference of only a few calories in the day's energy total (it can be calculated that a 25% rise in BMR might amount to a pound of fat every 3 months), but for the person concerned with weight control, the difference is in the right direction. Hot peppers irritate the digestive tract & treatment for ulcers advises avoiding them. Again, caution is necessary when using the components in foods to achieve an effect. Advantages & disadvantages must be weighed carefully. Moderation is recommended even with small but real benefits evident. Hot peppers & garlic are only 2 of the foods related to reducing the risk of heart disease. Unprocessed or lightly processed fruits, vegetables, legumes and grains all play a role. Thanks to the actions of their fibres & possibly other constituents.
