I'm No Walton strikes gold in Sires Stakes "I'm No Walton", the three year old trotting colt owned by Lori and Mike Wade of Little Britain trotted to victory again Sunday evening (August 27), winning the Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) Gold Final for three year old Trotters at Flamboro Downs. The speedy colt had won, the 08S Gold Elimination the week before in Flamboro and proved his stuff again a week later when he won a nine-horse race, winning by three quarters of a length. The son of Balanced Image and Ginger Jewel, "I'm No Walton" is a full brother to the Wade's trotting sensation, Billyjojimbob. Retired now, BJ will be inducted into the Canadian Horse Race Hall of Fame this Wednesday (August 30) at a gala affair at Woodbine Raceway. After the first day's action it might have been called the "Cook's Day" - Nathan Cook led the Bantams with an 80, Lawrence Cook led the Juniors with a 79, Cam Cook ard Bill were in contention in the men's division with a 78 and 80. Jamie Menzies led the men's with a 74 and in the seniors Paul Ibey with. a 83. The second day saw the leader ' board change and pne rain clouds open. Nathan Cook led the Bantams with another 80, second at 170 was Reid McTaggart, then Adam Moynes at 175. The Junior lead changed hands as Rob Bredin had an 87 for a 171, Lawrence Cook had a 96 for a 175 and Noah Dorland was third at 189. The Senior Division had Paul Tbey at 162, Ron Avarall at 169 and Blake Van de Water at 177. The men's division had Ken Goreski and Chtis Jamieson tied at 150 with identical rounds of 75 and 75, Jamie Menzies third at 154 with Steve Middleton and Jeremy Geer tied at 155. "The weather for the third round was clear and cool but the golfing was hot as Nathan Cook won the Bantam Championship with a 254 and Tim Wray was low net winner. Taking the Junior title was Rob Bredin with the Pebble Beach look, with a'250, Lawrence Cook was second with a 263, Ryan Residence 985-0587 Moynes was the Junior low net winner. In the Senior Division, Paul Ibey won with a 54 hole score'of 239, Ron Avarall was second with a 256 and Blake Van de Water was third with a 267. Senior low net was won by John Cherry. The men's title and overall club championship came down to almost a match play format with Ken Goreski and Chris Jamieson with identical scores battling it out all the way. After the dust had settled Chris Jamieson had won the men's title with a final round 74 for a 224 total, Ken Goreski shot a 78 for a 228 total and Glen Bidon was third with a 231.
