First, on Friday, October 20, Lindsay came to Port Perry. Pearce Auction's Michael Lycett, Cassidy Weber, and Jeff Tomcheski had many early chances in the game but Lindsay scored first. In the second, Keenan Geer set up Kyle Mullins, who let go a sizzling shot from the side to put Port Perry in front. The tight checking continued until Ashley Lucas' second effort, on a| Tyson Savage rebound, put Pearce' Auction up 2-0 in the final minute of the period. Port Hope made it close with a goal in the third and put the pressure on. Danny Halward broke up a rush in the dying seconds to had strong effqrts in net over the weekend to help seal the win. Mariposa came out strong and built/up a 3-0 lead before Sarah scored an unassisted goal. The home team scored 2 quick goals + before Kelly replied for Port, assisted by Sarah. Less than a minute later Sarah scored' another unassisted goal, first period ended 5-3 in favour of Mariposa. The second period saw the home team _ take command and skhte away with 13-5 victory. Scoring in the 2nd period for Port was Sarah, with her 3rd, from Kelly and Shannon from Sarah. On Sunday we travelled to Scarborough. A good nights sleep seemed to make a big difference as our girls came out strong. . From, the opening free . pass Port put pressure on the Scarborough goalie. Aften severalt attempts Sarah opened the scoring at the 7 minute mark assisted by Keily and Heather. Three minutes later Shannon scored on a period 2-0 for Port. Quickly into the 2nd period Sarah scored again from Heather. ; Scarborough came back and got one past Alaina who was playing in goal in only her 4th game ever as a-goalie. Halfway through the 2nd Shannon scored from Alaina B. and Sarah. The home team got one back but we scored in the final minute when Sheena fed Alaina B. who made no mistake giving Port a 5-2 win. Improving play by our new defence Elizabeth and Colleen along with our rookie forwards Colleen B., Lisa, and Jessica played a major role in this victory.
