Since joining when she was 12, she's also. been involved in most other 4-H clubs Durham East has to offer, with the exception of the Beef Club. Now, 20, next year being her final one, she's considering joining this program. "I want to learn more about the breed. When I was a member of the sheep and swine clubs I learned a lot" she said. While staying with a family in Wales she got the chance to go on calls with the local country vet and did a lot of hiking. And she did other fun things too, like riding the world's largest roller coaster in Blackpool. But the highlight of the trip was when she attended the Royal Highland Show in Scotland and witnessed a former cow of theirs, Altona Lea Broker Emma, become the Top Junior Champion. When she introduced herself to the new owner he and his family all hugged her, delighted she was there to witness the event. Arriving home on July 26, two nights before her parents hosted the Durham County Twilight Meeting, she says about the trip, "it was the most eye opening experience.
