"Leading scorer Keith Leslie staked his team to a 1-0 lead midway through the first #8 he tipped in a shot from Todd Dennis on the power play. Late in the frame, Ryan Ridgway upped it to 2-0 on a nice pass from Todd Stirling. Ridgway made fio mistake with a perfect shot just under the cross bar. After a goal at 5:11 of the second by Paul Kelly from the side of the Buzz cage, MoJacks put the game on ice at the mid-point with two goals in the span of 61 goals on Sunday and the same number Friday in Lakefield. "It's really been clicking, there is good chemistry and it's a real pleasure for me to watch from the bench," said the skipper, adding that one of the keys to the success of the power play of late has been patience--the players are taking that extra second or two to set up a team-mate for a quality scoring Al Hurlburt un-leashed a bullet at 9:51 to make it 4- 0 and at 10:52, it was 5-zip on a nice effort by: Kenton LeFort. Not to.out-done, Mike Pigeau hammered the final nails in the Buzz coffin in the last minute of the period with a pair of power play (surprise!) markers. His first at 19:26 just caught the net under the cross bar, and the second Auctioneers win Pearce Auction Novice played an exhibition game on Friday, November 10 against the Oshawa Bruins. Then Michael Lycett grabbed the puck and went through Oshawa's defence. He made a nice move on the goalie to put Port Perry ahead to stay. Taylor Churchill earned an assist on this final goal. CFTO TV will have their cameras on the skaters that evening. Advanced Tykes show their stuff The Advanced Tykes took to the ice once again on November 11, showing some unbelievable talent and knowhow for the game. Tending net for Dollar Plus Bargain Centre was Mark Copithorn who exhibited tremendous instinct for the game while getting a shut-out. For David's Hairstyling, netminder Darryl Lycett worked hard to keep his eye on the puck throughout the game with great saves. Both teams have excelled in their team- work ability with great two way playing and defensive work. For David's, Michael Cooke and Glenn Baker worked hard defensively while Michael Wallace and Brent Henry forged for the puck, playing forward. Bargain Plus had great defense plays by Hayden Taylor and Kyle Passmore, with pretty impressive forward work by Eric Brown. Dollar Plus defeated David's and that is one major reason why the Buzz are still looking for their first victory. On Friday night in Lakefield, Pigeau and Todd Dennis led the scoring parade with three goals each, while singles went to Brian McArthur, Hurlburt, Matt Pyke, Scott Heasman. SLAPSHOTS: A moment of silence was * observed prior to Sunday's game in memory of Ken Jackson who passed away last week. Mr. Jackson, founder of Flamingo Pastries and Mother Jackson's Open Kitchens in Port Perry sponsored the team since it started 24 years ago. The MoJacks + wore black arm-bands in his memory. Forward Chad Kearns who suffered a nasty break just above the right wrist a couple of weeks ago, hopes to have the cast removed in about thrge weeks time and will 'start skating with the team then. Scott Heasman has played very well dlong the MoJack blue line' this _season. He has great wheels, and though not the biggest player on the ice, likes to step into opposition forwards. He also has one of the hardest shots on the team and usually keeps it low and on the net. MoJacks are un-defeated at the Scugog Arena so far this season (four wins and two ties) They have 18 points to date with a record of eight wins, three losses and two ties. With 34 points in 13 games, Keith Leslie is having a great season. If he can keep the pace up and stays healthy, watch for him to win the Central scoring crown. Little Britain continues to lead the Central Junior C loop after posting a pair of weekend wins over Bobcaygeon Bullets by scores of 8-6 and 4-1. Bullets scored in the final five mifiutes to ruin the Merchant attempt at a shut-out. Merchants host Lakefield on Saturday night. MoJacks are in > Bobcaygeon Friday night to take on the vastly improved Bullets. On Sunday night, they host Lakefield Chiefs at the Scugog Arena at 7:00 PM. All the girls played a tight offensive and defensive game; protecting their very rookie netminder, Trevor Doe, who did a fine job! Saturday evenings jaunt to Omemee proved to our girls losing a game is part of the big picture when it comes to team sport. Although this game is as a loss, with a final score of 4-8, it was end to end action te Let me assure you the three unassisted goals, one each for Jessica, Ceilidh and Amanda, were well earned. Everyone pulled together and were relentless with their shots on the Omemee goalie. High shots, low shots, corner shots, any kind of shot, she refused to give our Port girls the edge and insisted on providing her team with the win. The adrenalin, the jubilance, the frustration this game equipped players and fans with the feelings that xing ca bok to the arena for m Way go XL Eaglettes!
