Sign zoning gets OK A re-zoning application that would keep Scugog Signs operating has been given the go-ahead by Township council. But it took a tie-breaking vote by Mayor Howard Hall. Council Monday voted 4- 3 in favour of the controversial re-zoning for the company that employs about seven people making municipal road and traffic signs. But in going ahead with the re-zoning, council stipulated the applicant must put a letter of credit to guarantee that all terms and conditions set down by council in a site plan agreement are met. While Scugog Signs occupies the building in question, the re-zoning comes from the owners of the property, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mammone who have attempted several times in the past couple of years to secure the proper zoning for the business. Voting in favour of the re-zoning on Monday were the Mayor and councillors Joyce Kelly, Ken Gadsden pnd Ken Carruthers. Opposed were Marilyn Pearce, Karen Puckrin and Doug Moffatt. Councillor Pearce said the application is a "spot zoning" for a business that should be in a properly zoned industrial park in the Township. sign Settlement House Shops CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE NOVEMBER 10- 19 Settlement House Shops Downtown Port Perry (905) 985-8234 Open 7 Days a Week OPEN HOUSE HOURS NOVEMBER 10th to 19th Monday to Thursday & Saturday 9:30 to 5:30 Friday to 9 :00 ; Sunday 11:00 to 5:00 10% OFF IN ALL OF OUR SHOPS PLUS MANY MORE IN STORE SPECIALS (* excludes furniture) Join the fun from November 10th to 19th ...
