Both the girls' basketball and the boys' volleyball teams have completed very 'competitive season. The rest will be only temporary as the boys' basketball and girls' volleyball teams will be practising in the coming weeks for their upcoming seasons. The girls finished their basketball schedule with a hard fought game against the CHS teachers' squad led by the dominating presence of the fantastic females, Mrs. Courtney, Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. Woodside. It was an exciting and close game but the teachers prevailed. Congratulations to the CHS Health Council, underithe leadership of our school nurse Kathy McLaughlin, which organized a most shiccessful, milk campaign. We met our goal of 350 litres of milk and word has it. that CHS will be awarded one of the major prizes, a video dance. W8 will know for certain in the coming weeks. Our intramural hockey schedule has begun. The , teams, both competitive and non competitive play on Friday after school at the Blackstock arena. To see how hockey was meant to be played, without'the niillion dollar contracts, come out and watch the various squads compete simply for the fun of it. Last year, the championship was won by the teachers' team. Will they be permitted to repeat? The challenge has been issued by team captains Mr. Mgynes and Mr. Morrison. The annual presentation of thé three one act plays takes place this Wednesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. at.the Blackstock Rec Centre. This year the school is featuring four productions: Final Dress Rehearsal, Mystery of Mouldy Manor, Feudin' Mountain Boys, and Soap Opera. As always, the evening promises to be filled with rollicking laughter as the budding talents of CHS take to the stage. Admission is $3/ person. The CHS Band Parents will be holding the fourth annual Christmas in the Country Craft Sale on Sunday November 26 at the Blackstock Rec Centre from 10 to 4. Glenna MacLeod is chairing this year's sale. If you wish to rent a table give Glenna a call at 986-5434. Lunch will be available as well as a wide variety of crafts from local artisans. The proceeds from this event will be put toward the senior band's trip to Washington D.C. in early May where the band will be performing at the International Music Festival. The annual Christmas concert. will be held on Tuesday December 19 at 7:30 in the . gym at Cartwright Central Public School.
