Legionaires lose heart s / On Fridgy November 24, the Oshawa Black Hawks were in town to face the Legionaires. After a bit of a slow start Chris Skerratt let a 35 foot slapshot go that found the corner assisted by Steve Wygerde. Just 36 seconds later Braden Tarbotton fed Dean VanCamp who walked Sut. from the corner and stuffed one home, ! MVP was Scott Brownsap. Game two of the day was against Scarborough. Sean ned the scoring at 2:45 of the first period witha slapshot from the point into the top corner. Tim picked up the assist. Then at 4:25 Chris Skerratt stuffed in a loose puck from in front of the net. Agsists went to Matt and Scott. Second period action had Steve send the puck back to 'the point where Grant Hooker sent in a slapshot which Chris Skerratt banged in the rebound at 1:17. Then 42 seconds later, Matt comes out of the corner and makes it 4-0 Port. Assists went to Dean and Dane. At 3:30 of the' third period Chris passed to Matt who in LL} ACTUALLY I! At 1:49 of the first period * Braden banged in his own rebound right after Dane had taken a shot on the short side. At 9:08 Port got an insurance goal as Mark passed over to Matt who put it home. Final score 6-3. MVP was Dean-VanCamp. Port finished first in their division so we headed to the semi-finals at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Our next opponents were Prince Edward County who werb the wild card team as this was a three division, 12 team tournament. - In a fairly physical game it turned out to be the Matt and Dean show. Matt was in on all five goals as he had two goals and three assists, Dean had the othpr three goals-for the hat trick. Also getting assists were Braden with two, Tip and Scott with one each. Final score 5-2 Port. MVP. was Dean VanCamp. Port was now in the championship game against Alliston who beat Cobourg 4-2, Port got on the board first as Dean let a slapshot go from just inside the blueline that found the top right corner. * Alliston . who were JUST HOPING PEOPLE FEEL GUILTY SO THEY'LL topper in double OT outshooting us in the first period, tied the score at the 8:20 mark. Chris had made a couple of saves but a loose puck was shovelled home. Just 46 gecorlds into the second period, Dean knocks down an Alliston clearing pass and snapped one in from about the hash marks. Then just three minutes later Alliston tied the game at two when a shot hit Chris in the shoulder, goes over him and in. Then at 8:0] Grant passes to Scott who in turn flips the puck to Chris Skerratt and Chrig finds himself on a breakaway.
