For two days on January 20 and 21, teams of Siberian Huskies and their mushers will be racing over a course that will start and end on Queen Street, said Dave Goldberg, a member of the Port Perry Kinsmen Club which is organizing the races again this year. It will be the third year for Siberian sled dog racing in Port Perry, though this January's event will be "scaled down" from previous years, said Mr. Goldberg. The Port Perry office of H and R Block is sponsoring the races and putting up the $500 Christmas trees of all shapes and sizes are being sold again this year by 1st Port Perry Scouts at the Port Perry Plaza.
