i = 20 -- Scugog Citizen -- Tuesday, February 6, 1996 Play off round one for Sunday morning gang Sunday was the first of . the play - offs for the Scugog Hockey league and from the look of it they're off to a good start! The Taylor Aces and the Monsma Chargers played the first game and in the first period the Aces were off to a 4 - 1 lead. The first of the four goals was scored by Richie LeFort and assisted by Mark Jobb and Steve Dunn. The next three were scored by Mark Jobb, assisted by Richie *LeFort. As well, Ken Little assisted with the third and fourth goals. The Chargers' goal was scored by Jack Monsma and assisted by Lee Wilbur and Steve Churchill. Then the Chargers scored two more, the first was' scored by Lee Wilbur with an assist from Jody Peters, and Mike Geer scored with an assist from Bill VanCamp. The final goal was scored by the Aces in the third period with a shot from Mark Jobb, assisted again by Richie LeFort. In game two the J & D Hawks beat the Fitzgerald Clippers 3 - 1. The Hawks had an obvious lead. with their three goals in the second period. Tim Ashbridge scored the first with assistance from Brian Burns and John Mackey. Then Gary Lance scored with assists from Alan Sibbald and John Kotarba. Finally Brian Burns scored their last with assists from Joe Curran and Dave Jackson. The Clippers' sole goal was scored by Doug Sr ppelsa and assisted by Rick "Campbell and Tom Barnes. Game three was the closest of the day with the Harrison Flames defeating the Pineridge Wolves in the third period. Willy Edwards of the Flames scared the first goal with assists from Bob Beveridge and Glen Hudson. Then Todd Wilbur scored for the Wolves with assists from Larry Pilkey and Clarence Stephenson. Jim Beatty scored the next goal for the Flames with assistance from Duane Bronson and Bob Beveridge, followed by Willy Edwards who was assisted by Duane Bronson and Jim Beatty. Ken Davison scored the first in the second period for the Wolves with assists from Darcy Milligan and Todd Wilbur. Then Darcy Millig&n took the next goal unassisted. Larry Jackson scored the final goal for the Wolves with assistance from Ron Zaparanuik and Larry Pilkey. Then the Flames scored two final goals, the first by Bob Lee which was assisted by Duane Bronson, and the second by Willy Edwards who was assisted by Glen Hudson. The final score of game three was 5 - 4 for the Taylor Aces. In game four the Compton Comets" were shut out by the Van & Truck World Sharks 3 - 0. Dave Dickson scored the first goal with an assist from Lee Steeves.
