In game one the Harrison Flames defeated the Taylor Aces 5 - 2. The first goal was scored by Mark Jobb of the Aces, giving them the early lead, Then within a minute the Flames fired in three goals. Duane Bronson was assisted, for the first goal, by Bill Bridge and Bruce, Smith; then Bob Beveridge took the next goal with assists from Rick Hope and Jim Beatty. Willy Edwards scored the last of the three with assists from Rick . Hope and Bob Beveridge. The next goal was scored by Mark Jobb again, with assist from Bill Own and Richie LeFort. Bill Bridge cleaned up the game in the third period with one unassisted goal and one assisted by Duane Bronson and Bruce Smith. Game two was the highest scoring game of the day with the J & D Hawks. 'beating the Compton Comets 7 - 1. John Mackey scored the first goal for the Hawks, assisted by Bob Collins. Mike McQuade of the Comets followed up with his goal assisted by Jason Warner and Bill Foote. Gary Lance scored next for the Hawks with assist by Bob Collins and Brian Norton. Then Mike Driscoll followed up with a second goal for the Comets with assists from Mike McQuade and David. Roth, tying the game. John Mackey scored two more goals with the assistance of Brian Norton, Keijo Kinnunen and Tim Ashbridge. Keijo Kinnunen took the next goal ip with an assist from Steve * Groves. Bob Collins scored the next goal with assists from Gary Lance and Dave Jackson, then Joe Curran finished the game With a shot assisted by Jehn Mackey. The Pinerldge Wolves and the Pizza Delight Roosters battled out the third game which ended tied at 2 - 2. The first goal was scored by Warren Geer of the Wolves with assistance from\ Ron _ Zaparanuik and 31 Smart Sr. John Harman + scored firsts, for the Roosters with an assist from Jeff Johnstone. Warren Geer scored the second Wolves' goal with assist, from Larry Pilkey and Todd Wilbur. The final goal was scored unassisted -by Brian Stevenson who finished the game. Then in game four Van & Truck Sharks shut-out the Fitzgerald Clippers 3 - 0. Our first game was against the Uxbridge Lyna's and proved to be our first step to the championship. A win of 5 - 2 was achieved using good team effort. Chris Gloster lead * the pack with two goals and an assist. Tyler Lucas, David Halward 'and Gerrard Timmers scored a goal and assist each. Assists were also awarded to Sean Williams, * Cameron MacDonald and Brian Gaudet. : e moved to to our second match up with Currahdale Farms and came out ahead 5 - 1. More great plays by the entire team kept our top scorers hot! Gerrard Timmers scored twice, with two assists. Chris Gloster and Mike Blakey also scored a goal and assist each. As well, proving that a great effort was made by all, assists were awarded to | Mark Richardson, Tyler Lucas, David Halward, Joshua Griffin, Mike Sytsma and Kevin Moore. We then moved onto the Championship game against a very strong Uxbridge Canadian Tire team. We went into the game strong and kept up the pressure to win the tourney with a score of 4 - , 2. Sean Williams scored two great goals, Mike Blakey and Tyler Lucas also managed anqther goal each. Assists went to David Halward, Chris Gloster, and two to Mark Richardson. Joel VanCamp started the scoring for IGA of 12:54 of the first period on a nice pass from Ken Ellis. Murphy Irvine 'fired in the next one 6 minutes later assisted by Joel. At 4:51 Joel scored his setond assisted by Kam Cooper and Reid McTaggert. . Uxbridge got on the board with 2 minutes left in the period but Kam got us another goal at 1:04 assisted by Joel. This line wa# hot tonight. Early in the 2nd, Joel picked up his 8rd goal for a hat trick and , Coach Bill's Detroit hat flew onto the ice. ; Then Uxbridge took over scoring 4 goals in a row to tie the game at 5 - 5 midway through the 2nd. Steve Martyn started us up again with a goal at 9:02 on passes from Kam and Lawrbnce Cook. Joel put in 2.more goals with Kam"s help to finish off the period: The score was 8 - 5 going into the 3rd and IGA icked up 3 goals in a row. One came at 12:52 from Lawrence assisted by Jon Sanders on a nice 2 on 1 pass after Reid shot the puck up. Next we got'2 goals from Murphy, to complete his hat trick and Bill's hat was off once more. Uxbridge finished off the scoring with 2 more goals at 5:29 and 1:32 to end the game at 11 - 7 for IGA. Joel VanCamp had a great game picking up 5 goals and 2 assists.
