And what a big win it was. Not only did it improve the-Redmen .record to date at two' wins and three defeats, it was the first loss 86 far for the Chiefs, defending Mann Cup champs. Brooklin had beem hampered by an incomplete lineup through their fitst - four games, but this night all but two regulars were on thefloor. Bill Callan will complete his move back to Whitby this week and Shawn Williams sat out thé last game of his _ suspension. The Redmen never trailed in this match-up, leading '6-3 after the first period and 12.7 through 40 minutes. Chiefs mounted something of a comeback in the second as they narrowed. the margin to 12-10 after just five minutes of play, but the Redmen werg not about to let this one slip through their fingers. They clicked for four goals in the final nine minutes of the game to seal the win.~ Gary Gait had a great night for the victors with seven goals and one assist and Willie Arnold fired the hat trick and had an assist. Veteran captain John Fusco had a five point game on the strength of a goal and four helpers. For the Chiefs, Cam Bombetry fired three goals and three assists and John Tavares counted four markers. \ Redmen netminder Derek Collins turned in a strgng game and seems to be settling down in the cage after a mediocre performance in previous ames. . Redmen were not able to carry through with the momentum of this [. } ~ victory Thursday night as they were nipped 10-9 by the Peterborough Lakers. Lakers took a 5-3 lead after the first, but Redmen cut it to 7-6 after two frames and pulled even at 8-8 with just over five minutes left in the game. .
