Young 'uns are able to buy a ping pong ball which is loaded into a dump truck. At 3 p.m. Saturday, the truck will dump its load at Water and Queen streets. The first ping pong ball across the-finish line will win a bicycle. The Queen St. stage this year will present entertainment by "The Golden Slippers', Wado Kai Karate Club, and 'Chaipion', presented by the Emmantil Full - Gospel Congregation. i At 2 p.m., the call of the auc- tioneer will ring oit from the Queen St. stage as the annual Merchants Auction gets under- way. All the items to be auctioned off have been donated by local merchants. Come and' bid on approximately 75 exciting items. Saturday at 8 p.m., a street dance will be held for our teens. Music will be provided by Andy French.: The Latcham Centre will be transformed into the 'Longhorn aioon', for the weekend. It will ty open Friday night to the sounds of Timberwolf, a local country band for your disténing and danc- ing pleasure. At 9 p.m., the band will take a break and you will be asked to judge the Best Dressed Employee of the Merchants con- test, with as much noise as possi- ble. Friday and Saturday, the doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and will be serving the hottest chili in the west throughout the day. The ,Good Time Cloggers will be per- forming on stage at 7 p.m. Friday. Laser Kardoke will offer chances to become a 'star', as well as offer fantastic prizes to these who sing, along with pre-recorded back- ground music. The Festival Tent will house Karaoke on Thursday night with free admission. Friday night there will be the first Eestival Days . Country Amateur show. With the quality of entrants that have been registered, it will have some first class entertainment. Warren Sutcliffe and Blué Steel will pro- vide toe tappin' music all evening. Saturday night, put on your danc- ing ghoes as Pink Cadillac moves into the Festival Tent with their *50s and '60s Hhusic. Tickets for Pink Cadillac and the Country * Amateur Show are on sale now for only $5 per pérson. There will also be a $5 entry fee on Thursday night for Timberwolf at the Longhorn Saloon. All other hap- penings are free admission. -Saturday at noon, armwrestling comés to the Festival Tent. This is an annual event that promises to be even more exciting this year than in the past. A new and exciting event this year is the Bathtub race which will be held at the lakefront throughout Saturday. The finals will be run at approximagely 3 p.m. Come out and cheer for your favorites. Other events during Country '91 include an Invitational Soccer Tournament, a Mini Saccer Tournament, Mountain Bike Race, Rowing Demonstration by the Durham Rowing club, Vendors' Mall and the Midway.
