It was well at- tended and very much enjoyed. Quite 'a few brought their bathing suits and enjoyed 'a swim before the races started, Milton Demara won the young men's race; Laverne Martyn won the boys' race; Harold Martyn won the small boys' race, Mrs. Cecil Heayn won the women's race; Rena Sweetman won the small. girls' race, Bobby "Beacock won the little boys' race; Mrs. C. We are glad to have Miss Jones with-us again this summer. Miss Jean Crooks, of Toronto, is having a few holidays here with her parents Mr. and Mrs. B. Crooks. Mr. and Mrs. H. Demara, Mr. and Mrs. J. Demara, Grace and Glen, at- tended the King family re-union last Wednesday, July 5th, in Little Britain Park. The afternoon was spent in visiting and races, and making plans for a larger and better time next year. Mr. J. Aldred and his two nephews, Will and Norman, of Toronto, are JULY 15th visiting the former's brother, Mr. J. Aldred. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Savage, of To- ronto, visited his aunt Mrs, J. A. Our Football boys ry to Prince Albert last week and came-home with the short end of a 2-1 score. The boys' softball team played at Port Perry last Friday evening and came home all smiles, the score was 25-7 in their favour. The next game is with Myrtle at Myrtle, on Thursday of this week (July 13). Success boys! The next girls' games are: Brooklin here" on July 15th, and Scugog at Blackstock on July 19th. Do you best girls! Miss Burnice Sweetman, of Toronto, is spending a few holidays with her parents Mr. and Mrs. A. Sweetman. The friends of Mr. Jos. Gerrow's family here were sorry to hear of their bad accident and the death of Mr. Gerrow, following the accident. The family were on their way here from Medicine Hat, to visit with rela- tive, when the accident occurred near Duluth, Minn. The remains were sent here for burial, the funeral service being held at the home of his sister Mrs. Wm. Nott, Port Perry, Rev. Mr. Elford conducting the service, on Mon- day. The beautiful floral tributes showed the esteem in which Mr. Ger- row was held. Mr. Gerrow spent the earlier part of his life on Scugog, and chose a Scugog girl for his wife-- Veteran Cleaners and Dyers Uxbridge, Ont.
