The Port Perry United Church has been successful in securing as the anniversary preacher of next Sun-f day, Rev. James Endicott, D.D., LL.D, of Toronto. For nearly twenty years Dr. Endicott was an outstanding mis- sionary leader in the Orient. On the retirement of Rev. Dr. T. KE. Egerton Shore from the head of the Foreign Missionary Department of the former Methodist Church, Dr. Endicott suec- ceeded to that position and with the consummation of Union in 1925, con- tinued in that important office. Dr. Endicott was second Moderator of the United Church of Canada and during his two years visited all the mission fields of his church, travelling 30,000 miles in that tour. Representing the United Church of Canada at the con- summation of the Methodist Churches of the Old Land held in Albert Hall; London, he arose to such heights of Christian statesmanship and cloquence as to put him in the front rank in a land of great pulpiteers, .
