The program for next meeting is being ar- ranged by Miss Grace Vickery, Mr, Fred Hunter and Mr, Jack Butson, Mr, T. J. Sager attended the funeral of his father Mr, Chases Sager at Queensboro last Thursday. On Tuesday evening a miscellaneous shower was given in honour of Mr, and Mrs, Bert Wannamaker (nee Gertrude Martyn) in the basement of the church when many useful and beautiful gifts were received by the bride and groont, Mr. H. R. Murphy and Mr. J, T. Dob- son on behalf of the Church Board presented the bride with a casserole, and the following address: _ : El To Mrs. Bertrum Wannamaker-- At last the inevitable has happened and you have severed your connection with Prince Albert, henceforth to cast in your lot with the community at Seagrave. We have watched you grow from little girlhood to womanhood and gradually take your place in our church life here--as Sunday School teacher, Church organist and League worker. We will miss your help in all these capacities, as faithfulness has been your watchword, and we re- gret very much to lose you as our numbers are few at best. We would refer especially to-night to your work as organist in the church here in Prince Albert, which has been (as it is in many small communities like ours) a labour of love. You have been faith- ful and efficient in this capacity, and while we feel we cannot repay you for your services we would like in some small way to show our appre- ciation, so we ask you to accept this gift, and as you look upon it, and use it, may it revive memories of pleasant associations in our church life here. You have assumed the responsibility of establishing a home of your own. Let us remind you here that no great- er opportunity can come to any woman in this any other nation, than that of establishing a home in which the name of God is revered and the principles of his son Jesus Christ practiced. Dobson, Mrs. A. E. Hunter, Miss S Laird * * The fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Dobson was cele- brated on Sunday last by a happy family gathering at their home here. Mr. J. Thos Dobson and Miss Eliza- beth A. Gibbs were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents in Port Hope on February 25th, 1885 by Rev. John Learoyd, Methodist mini- ster. They took up residence on the farm at Manchester now occupied by their son Harvey and lived there for 43 years. Seven years ago they re- tired from farming and moved to their present home in Prince Albert. They have always been active in the work of the church, first the Methodist church and later the United Church. Mr. Dobson, for over 30 years was superintendent of the- Sunday School at Manchester and is at present assistant Supt. at Prince Albert Sun- day School, and elder of the Church. He also served as Township Councillor for some years, Mr. and Mrs. Dobson raised a family of six sons and two daughters.
