WILLIAM WEBSTER, Port Perry PAST MASTERS' NIGHT AT FIDELITY LODGE, AF. & AM. Three special and pleasing features marked Past Masters' Night in the Masonic Lodge last Tuesday evening, The first was the presentation to the Lodge of an excellent photo of the late V. W. Bro. A. J. Davis. The photograph was the gift of Mrs. A, J. Davis and family. The presentation was made by R. W. Bro, H. G. Hutch- eson on their behalf. Mr. Davis was the first Master of Fidelity Lodge No. 428. The second event was the presenta- tion of a gold medal to Bro. Wm. Hern, who has been a member of the Lodge for 62 years. The medal was the gift of the Grand Lodge, and the presentation was made by V. W. Bro. Geo. R. Davey. At the conclusion of the Lodge meeting, Rev. T. A, Nind gave a graphic description of his trip to England and Scotland last summer. His account of this splendid and much appreciated holiday held the attention of the brethren as one after another of the great British sights was de- scribed. Among these were the Scot- tish War Memorial at Edinburgh; the grave of the "Unknown Warrior" at Westminster, the War Memorial to he men of Kent at Canterbury; the historic pageantry of Westminster Hall and the Chapel of Henry the Seventh; the rush of London traffic; and the rugged beauty of the Devon- shire scenery. Rev. Mr. Nind closed his address with a fine tribute to the justice and good sportsmanship of the British people. 2 I Pleasing musical numbers were given by Mr. Mann and Mr. Durkin, both of which were greatly appre- ciated. GOLDEN WEDDING . Last Monday Mr. and Mrs. George Prentice were greatly surprised when a number of neighbours came to their home 'to present congratulations and good wishes upon the occasion of the anniversary of 'their golden wedding. On account of the fact that Mr. Prentice had been in ill health for some time, it was intended that just a few of the family would be present to celebrate the event; but the neigh- bours heard about the anniversary and felt that they could not let the opportunity pass to express their good will. The following address was read by Miss Hazel Beare: To Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Prentice: Dear friends: ~~ At no time is it more fitting, than upon this, the oc-|- casion of your Golden Wedding, that we, your friends and. neighbours, lations and good wishes. You have proved yourselves worthy of our sincerest esteem and have won our affection by your unfailing kind- ness, and all those other qualities which go to make good neighbours. It is our prayer that God's blessing may continue to rest upon you both, and upon your, family, May many more of quiet years be added to your sun. We felt we could not let this op- portunity-pass without in some way Please accept this lamp and flowers with the love and best wishes of your neighbours. At the conclusion of reading the address, a handsome floor lamp and a lovely basket of chrysanthemums were presented by Miss Edna Jackson on behalf of the friends and neigh- bours. After an "exchange of friendly greetings, a social evening was spent by the entire party. ~| Miss Fern Stevens, of Ashburn, gave The relatives present were Mr, and Mrs. Norman Prentice and family-- rant, Gordon and Dorothy; Mr. and rs.
