H. A. JUNIOR HOCKEY The Lindsay team played here on Tuesday evening to open the Junior 0. H. A. season in Port 'Perry. The final score was 8-2 in favor of the home boys in an overtime period. The first period was fast with very close checking by both teams. The both goalies were right on their toes ang did not allow any goals in this period. : The second period was more open and the Lindsay boys soon scored 2 counters; 'but Port Perry soon made a rush and DeShane registered the first count for the home team from an The period ended Lindsay 2, Port Perry 1. The third period was the highlight of the game with plenty of fast skat- ing and back checking. The Port finally Bill Cawker scored from a pass by H. DeShane from behind the net. Then in the final period Port again came from behind and Dafoe on the left wing beat L. Beare by putting in| the final count. Both goalies played well and saved many a close shot from being a counter. We might specially mention Lorne Beare, a former Port boy, who we think saved Lindsay from a real trouncing. Hockey fans reckon this was the best game here in years,-and boys well deserve the support of the town and vicinity. Come along to the next game and root for the home team. The boys put all they have in the game and will appreciate your cheers. RA PORT PERRY LOST TO OSHAWA On Friday night, Jan. 3rd, Port Perry lost to the Oshawa group by a score 8-1, Bill Vipond scored Port's only goal. While Oshawa's total looks large, it does not mean that the game was one sided. The Port boys made some good plays and with a little more experience as the season advances will likely show to better "advantage "before the Motor City team. : --_-- WALLACE-VALLEAU ---0On Friday evening, January 3rd, at the home of the bride's father, 68 Ila B, Brock St. East, Oshawa, youngest daughter of Mr. James K.
