R. Davey were in Coldwater over the week end. A number of baseball enthusiasts from Port Perry were in Sunderland on\ Saturday to see the play between Sunderland and Woodstock. Mr. and Mrs, Frank Slemmon ar- rived home from their honeymoon on Friday, and are taking up residence in Brockville, _ Mr. and Mrs. Archie Farmer, and Mr. and Mrs. Luke and family, spent Thanksgiving day 'with friends in Cobourg. The Misses Emmerson, of Toronto, spent the holiday in Port Perry. Mr. Alfred Andrus, Fenelon Falls, spent Thanksgiving. haliday in Port Perry. He is getting along well back at the Falls, Rev. Clarence Ferguson of Bethany, took the service in the United Church on Sunday evening. He preached an excellent sermon on "The Old-Time Religion" giving the subject a new turn. ¢ Mrs. Geo. Hall found a flower oddity in her garden. A marigold had seven little flowers growing out of the back of the original. flower, which had apparently died, but from which had grown these new' flowers, complete with stems, Mr. and Mus. Philip Nind from Thorold, the Misses Doris and Sylvia Nind of Toronto and Hugh of Camp- bellford with Mr. J. Ryde of Toronto, all spent the week end at the Rectory. Mrs. A. D. Mr. Patterson of Sunderland. i The October meeting of the Aux- iliary of the W~M, S. of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Port Perry, was held at the home of Mrs. Wilkinson. The president in the chair. Mrs. Powers read the Scripture and Mrs. A. P. McFarlane took the prayer. Some items on Thanksgiving were given. We were pleased to have with us Mrs. Milne of Wick, one of the vice presidents of Lindsay Presby- terial, who addressed the meeting on the need of missions. We had a good attendance. At the close of the meet- four new members which was very gratifying. Refreshments and a social half spent at the close. St. John's Presbyterian Church is continuing two services-~11 a.m. and 7 pm. each Sunday, with 'Rev. R. Simpson, of Brooklin in charge.
