These pupils were given prizes by Scugog Chapter, 1.O.D.E. --_------e eo ------ ------ A HAPPY GATHERING On Wednesday evening, December 28rd, the Army-Navy Vets No. 216, L.0.L. No. 223 and Queen Victoria Auxiliary, held a roast chicken supper and social evening in their club rooms for members--in good standing with their children. Hon. President James Lucas and Hon. Chaplain Rev. T. A. Nind of the Army-Navy Vets No. 216 were present. Supper was served by the Auxiliary, Mrs. G. Bridger was in charge of the kitchen and Mrs. Cann was in charge of the tables. The Ladies' Auxiliary--entertainment committee assisted. Supper commenced at 6.15 ghiarn, Over seventy were present for the supper. The scattering few who did not turn out missed a real treat. After supper was served Comrades R. Trebell and W. Stoutt got the card tables placed and the euchre and bridge fans taxed their brains for the next two and a half hours. ~~ W.M. Bro. G. H. Bridger, assisted | by Bro. H. Howard, distributed candies and oranges among the child- ,ren and members. At the conclusion of the euchre and bridge, sandwiches cake and coffee were served. The even- ing was called to a close at 11.30. The three organizations have ac- complished more entertainment in the last year than any 'year previous. The reason for this is that an entertain- ment committee was appointed by each organization and they work jointly on all entertainments. ' This has caused also an increase in mem- bership.
