Under ordinary circumstances an anonymous letter is not worth heeding but I find that there are a few people who profess to believe that the state ment referred to above is true and it is for their information that I am making this statement. The present assessment on the Swan Building was set five months before the vote on the fixed assessment by- law was taken. Furthermore neither the reeve nor any member of the 'council had anything to do with this assessment. During the eight years which I have been assessing I have been given a perfectly free hand and this is as it should be. Now as regards the assessment on | this building, the author of this letter can appeal and 1 will welcome the-op- Court of Revision or a Judge. Everybody welcome. G. D. Aird, Assessor.
