We were very sorry to hear of the painful accident which befell Mr. H, Painter, sometime ago, when his finger was crushed in the cutting box while assisting -to fill the silo. Since that time it was found necessary to have the finger removed. Having recovered Mr. and Mrs. Painter and daughter have returned to the farm at Pros- pect. Isn't it just too bad that those "out of town" big boys who come 'to our village to play unkind hallowe'en pranks were not satisfied wtih their work on Saturday night, but returned on Sunday night to finish thelr mis- deeds. J. Cook, of Brooklin and several Oshawa friends left on Saturday for the winds of the north where they will spend a couple of weeks hunting for deer. Rev. Mr. Honey attended a meeting of the Oshawa Presbytery at Eldad last week when Evangelism was dis- cussed from different points. The annual Thank Offering services 14th, when Rev. Mr. Jull will speak in the morning and Rev. Mr. Wylie of Columbus will preach at night. Messrs. Melvin and Floyd Honey, of Toronto, spent the week end at the porsonage with their parents.
