Mr. Will Crosier, of Lindsay, and Mr. Fred Crosier, of Toronto, spent the week end with their sister Mrs. Jabes Crosier, Cochrane Street. Mrs. Geo. Jackson is home, after spending some time with relatives in the United States. Mr, Clinton Short, of Calgary, was the guest of his parents Mr. and Mrs, W. S. Short, last week. This organ- ization has invoked much enthusiasm. It is expected there will be about sixty members this winter. The C.G.I.T. girls from Port Perry attended the Rally held in Oshawa on Sunday last. Morning service was held at St. Andrew's United Chureh, and an afternoon program and even- ing service was held at Simcoe Street United Church, when an interesting address was given by Rev. Archer Wallace. Dinner and supper was served in the church by the Oshawa C.G.L.T. to about 150 visiting girls and leaders. Tuxis Boys Meet On Friday evening of last week, Port Perry Tuxis Boys, -under the direction of Mr. Jas. Kerr, staged an athletic meet of fine quality. From the outset to the final score in the basketball game, the interest never flagged, and there was some- thing doing all the time. A rollicking spirit pervaded the whole" programme, the big and little clowns (Bill Willard and Clarence Lakey), chased away any possible gloom, Boxing and wrestling were well staged by Frank Densham, Murray Holtby, and the Beare twins. The bouts had all the appearance of the réal thing. . The mat and bar wotk was good. The roll call was answered with the name of a Federated Institute Officer. Mrs, Jabez Wright, the dele- gate to the annual convention held recently in the Royal York Hotel, To- ronto, gave an excellent report which was full of interesting and helpful ideas. Mrs. Cecil Ferguson gave a splendid paper on Canadianization at the con- clusion of which she asked those pre- sent to join with her in singing "Land of Hope and Glory". Votes of thanks were tendered the hostess and also the delegate after which lunch was served by the group in charge. Mrs. F. Willan spent a few days in Toronto last week, the guest of her cousin Mrs, Ward. Mrs. (Rev.) C. C. Harcourt is visit- ing with relatives in Toronto. We are very sorry to report that Mr. Deck, who has been living with his daughter Mrs. (Rev.) H. Bell, at the parsonage, fell on Thursday evening last and fractured his hip. He was taken to Bowmanville Hospital. Mrs, Stringer of Toronto, has re- turned home after spending a few days at the rectory. Mr. Ross Richards and Miss Ada Beech of Hayden, spent Sunday with the latter's sister Mrs, Austin Larmer. Mrs. John Hooey, Roy and Burney, Mrs. Herman Samells and niece Gwen.
