Ear 40 YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE For upwards of forty years the late Miss Tryphena Jones did faithful ser- vice at the Utica United Church where she is greatly missed. Rain or shine she was never absent from her place in the House of God, whether in the -Sunday School or Ladies' Aid. At her place of worship they could ever depend on one whose fidelity to the sacred trust reposed in her was never betrayed and her place will be hard to fill. Her kindly disposition and winning ways were proverbial. She was never known to complain even when circum- stances were most adverse. She passed to her reward on 18th of September last at the home of her niece Mrs. Fred Stephen, of Ashburn. Her funeral was largely attended. It was held at her old church home where two former ministers who appreciated her worth, paid tribute to her sterling character. The remains were laid to rest in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert, in the family plot and many whose lives had been influenced for good by her noble example followed in the fun- eral cortage glad to do honour to the memory of one who was always held in the highest esteem. The Hon. J. W. Jones, her brother, late Minister of Finance of British Columbia, because of ill health was unable to attend but her three nieces, Mrs. Fred Stephens, and Mrs. H, S. Hanna of Toronto, and Mrs. Charles Geer of Pine Grove, were present at the funeral.
