Broadbent, won first prize in -the brass band competition at the Cana- Bdian National Exhibition, winning the Beare & Son challenge trophy and the $350.00 which accompanied it. dn addition, each member of the band was presented with a medal. , George Hood, cornetist, was award- ed the gold medal for the best cornet player of-theysix bands that éntered the competition.
