At first, for a good while, we had twenty members. Then it was increased to twenty-four, and now for several years we have had thirty with fifteén pounds of beef a share. There is till ten families of the original twenty. There has been only a very few weeks missed in all that time, celebrate their golden wedding. In 1889 Mr. Peters, who was born near Udora, in: Yory County, married Miss Mary Mapes of Toronto, formerly of Richmond Hill. They were married {by the Rev. W. A. Rodwell in Old ! Agnes St. Methodist Church, of which Mr. Peters was a member. : { Of the seven children born to Mr. and Mrs. Peters, four survive, and they were all present: Ernest Albert (Bert) a veteran of the last war, now of At- "lanta, Ga.; Mrs. Elwood Carruthers of | Uxbridge Tp., Mrs. George Beverley, | ; 'of Claremont, and Miss. Edith now teaching near Uxbridge. He was born' 62 years ago in Mid- land, from whence he first started sail- ing.
