The Autumn executive of the Bay of Quinte conference hugely of the Society of the United Church. of Canada 'gonvened at the Ontario Ladies' College, af Whitby, with a fair attendance of officers and a total registration of one hundred and sixty-two delegates from the seven presbyterials -- Renfrew, Kingston, Belleville, * Oshawa, Co- bourg, Peterborough and Lindsay. Miss E. Dunoon presided over the three sessions and Mrs. R. Vatcher gave an interesting synopsis of the Dominion Board meetings held _ in June. BENTLEY'S OPTOME T RIS' r Mrs. Jabes Crosier There died in Port Perry on Thurs. day, Sth, 1940, a highly pected resident, in the person of September re Mis. Jabes Crosier. Deceased was born in Enniskillen, Darlington Township, 8th, 1868. Her maiden name was Josephine McLaren. Her carly years were spent in Darlington. On the 24th of Feb- February runry 1886, she married Wesley Mountjoy, whose home was in Cart- wright. Three sons were born of this Luther, Elmer (who died in France) and Robert, whose home is marriage in Toronto. Mr. Mountjoy died in February 1921. The following year Mrs. Mount- joy married Jabes Crosier of Port Perry and made their home on Coch- rane Street. Mr. Crosier died December 17, 1936 Deceased was a kindly, home-loving woman, who spent her life in the ser- vice of others at-home and in Church, Like unassuming Christian women, she became part of the foundation of aur happy life and devoted life, thousands of other home church upon *| which our nation is built. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. J. H. Smyth, assisted by Rev. Do M. Stinson of Blackstock. Smallman, of Port Perry. Rev. W. J. H. Smyth ofliciated, Mr. John Somerville gave his cousin in marriage, and she was attended by her sister, Miss Kate Jeffrey. The bride's gown of blue silk tricotine was worn with coral accessories, and her flowers a corsage of roses. Her sister red wine silk tricotine, with matching accessories and corsage of roses. Mr. Wililam Beare was grooms- man. The church was beautifully decorated with gladiolus. Cricklewood Lodge was the setting for the recep- tion, where Mrs. Jeffrey received in navy crepe, and Mrs. Samllman in lilac crepe. After a short motor trip the couple will live in Toronto.
