Mitchell, of Stouffville, has conducted the services in the Port Perry United Church, His sermons have been most helpful and inspiring, scholarly in their content, and chal- lenging to all who heard him. The greatness and true happiness of the Christian life formed the theme of his addresses, which were broad enough to admit all who are willing to accept the teachingse of Christ as tha rule of life. On Sunday evening last Dr. Mitchell based his "sermon, on Augusting's creed-- "A whole Christ for my salvation; A whole Bible for my stall; A whole church for my fellowship; A whole world for my parish." And now the members of the Order must resume the regular activities. At an executive meeting 'held at the home of the Regent Mrs. Bentley, it was decided to ask cach member to be prepared to hand in her talent money on Oct 7th, to explain how she made her money. Those who haven't their contributions ready are to have the time extended to the end of October. A good attendance is requested. -------- Pm PORT PERRY UNITED CHURCH Next Sunday morning the Sunday School Rally service will be held in conjunction with the church service in the body of the church. There will be singing by the boys and girls with other special features. Rev. Mr. Smyth will back and will |~ speak at both morning and evening services. The feature of the evening at the Lions Club meeting last Friday was an address by Principal McClellan of the Port Perry High School. Mr. Me- Clellan outlined the work being done at the school, stressing the value of the manual training and home eco- nomics. These subjects are now taught in Grades 7 and 8 of the Public School, a service that is greatly ap- preciated by many parents.
