And so it goes! Others issue sale bills and listings do not ap- pear in this journal, * All this may be partly seasonal, but since farmers and farm -help have gone to factories in increasing num- bers, over many months, this trend has been increasingly apparent, Significant in this hegira are two main things. These advertisers are English speaking farmers who have quit the game. And as they go;--in come those of foreign extraction. In this one township we now have close bought up and are woking these farms as they bargain and barter in broken English, As Professor C. E. Sissons says: "We are getting close to This was once the proud County of still alive, alert and vigorous. In sorrow we report to them what<is happening in Durham They will know the "why" of all this They under way for more than a decade. = They We wonder if other districts can match our experience here! ~BEAYERTON SEED FAIR With double the amourit of entries of a year ago, and a larger crowd of visitors, the second annual Ontario County Seed Fair held at Beaverton, exceeded the expectations of its spon- sors, the Ontario Crop Improvement Association from the standpoint of success. The fact that it had to be postponed for a week from March 19 to March 26, on account of bad roads, did not seem to interfere in any way. Furthermore, the exhibits of seeds, and potatoes were of an exceptionally higher order, showing that quality seed has now the undivided attention of a majority of farmers. The exhibits included™oats, barley, fall wheat, spring wheat, buckwheat, clover, timothy, potatoes, peas and soybeans, both registered and unre- gistered, and these were neatly ar- ranged on tables spread out in the hall.
