Peterson has joined the staff of doctors at Christie Street Hospital. While he will be in Pért Perry on Saturday afternoon and Sundays, his work will be carried on by Dr. G. M. Rennie and the Nurse until a successor takes over Dr. Peter- son's practice. When that arrange- ment is finally made, the succeeding doctor will shave access to case his- tories. Notice of this development will be made as soon as completed. Our townspeople have learned with regret this move on the part of Dr. Peterson, who has proved himself to + be both proficient in his practice, and a good citizen, He will be particularly missed on the Board of "Education, of which he has been a most helpful member for the past six years, 'As yet Mrs. Peterson and the fam- ily remain with us, for which we are thankful, for they, too, have been most helpful: citizens. Our good wishes go with Dr, Peter- son for his success and happiness in . his new position, FORMER ONTARIAN DIES IN~ . CAROLINA ' Rev. The first was in connection with our local electrician Mr. Tinsley, who, be- cause cutting off power during repams would inconvenience consumers in that area, has been doing so with power on. The Hydro. Commission has forbidden this practice. In future power must be cut off in the area where repairs are being made. The second item was the announce- ment that $641.29 had been forwarded by the County Treasurér for local war work under the auspices of the L.LO.D.E. = The third item was a reminder frém the Department: of Municipal Affairs. that there would be no municipal clection here this lyear, as Port Perry had failed to oppose the proposal for a two year term for municipal officers, including members of the Board of Education. The hero inl this- case is a middle-aged, non-conformist minister from the north of England. For a few weeks the eyes of the public are upon this man. As the hero of the wreck, he enjoys as much publicity as a moyie star or a bootball player The story begins a week preceding the accident, The hero is a harassed and conscientious minister on the verge of a nervous breakdown caused by overwork. He is married to a semi-invalid and has one daughter, a school teacher in the small industrial town in which the hero preaches. He is fond of music and he has a sudden glimpse 'of - what he might have been if he had followed the dictates of his heart and devoted himself to music instead of preaching. He becomes involved in a train wreck in which he proves himself to be a. great hero. 'This story, written in a simple style, is easy to understand and yet it holds the interest of the reader to the end. And Now Good-Bye is a book well worth reading although Lost Horizon and Good-Bye Mr. Chips, two other books by the same author, are better in this reviewer's opinion.
