Rev. Dr. Clarke is an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church in U.S.A, who has instituted the Lord's Acre Plan. He is at present travelling on an In- ternational Good-will itinerary in astern Ontario and Quebec lecturing Sundays and week-days for a brief time this autumn. Dr. Clarke has three main thesis, two of which he emphasized in his unique and interesting service. (a) The setting apart of a portion -of a field or an acre for the Lord's work, or produce a hen or a pig." One little lad of ten years contributed $46 to the church inthis way. "He showed slides of churches built by this plan. This plan has been officially endorsed by sixteen communions in U.S.A. The second truth expressed was that by the memorization of Scripture, the grand old texts of the Bible. Children in Sunday School could learn to trans- late them into actual experience and adults could use these texts in prayer. The Rev. Mr. Clarke certainly has a good idea there. The third idea which he did not ex- press publicly but of which he himself was a living illustration, that farmers can progress even religiously by Federation. This need not be a political federation but the Holstein breeders is an illustration of what can be done by live stock experts who know what a group can_do- in this matter of study and marketing. Now,. the writer has an idea, too. Why could not the Young People of Port Perry erect a Community Centre by something like the Lord's Acre Plan! -- Contributed.
