GREENBANK "Mrs. J. A. Bagshaw, of Sunderland, visited relatives and friends here the last two weeks. Mrs. Laura Leask, of Toronto, visit- ing friends here for the holiday week- end. Lieut. Ivan Beare and Mrs, Beare, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ry. Beare, on Saturday. Miss Aletha Cragg, Miss Joyce Beare, Miss Alma Lee, of Toronto, at their respective homes here for the holiday week-end. Mr. and Mrs. McKnight, lately of Manitoba, visited Mr. and Mrs. C. Blakely for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Walker, Mr. and Mus. Blake Cragg, returned home after a two week's holiday at Dalrymple. Mr. and Mrs. Bushby, of Pickering, were the guests of his uncle Mr. Thos. Bushby and Mrs. Bushby, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Lee at Mr, Ty- son Lee's on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. C. Phoenix and Betty, have arrived from Brandon, Manitoba, and intend making their home here, having bought the house formerly owned by the late Mr. J. S. Lee. We welcome them to our village. Mr. and Mrs. W. McDonald, Toronto, visited at the home of Mr. J. Mec- Donald during the week-end. ks Mrs. E. Wilson and son, of Epsom, visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ty- son Lee, on Monday. Miss Ashton, Toronto, spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. J. McKitrick, last week. ASHBURN The regular monthly meeting of the Ladies' Bible Class was held at the home of Mrs. Wm, Gardner, on Tues- day, August 28th at 8.30 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Reg Doubt and family, of Lakefield, spent the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Heron. Mrs, Gladys Jordan, R.N., and daughter Helen, and Misses Catharine Fisher and Fern Stephen, returned home on Sunday after spending a week at Washago Beach. . Mrs. G. Hayes, of Columbus, is visiting with Mrs. M. Misses Margaret and Florence Lun- ney and Miss Phyllis Dodds, Toronto, were week-end and holiday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Lunney. Miss Dodds is soon leaving for foreign fields as a missionary. Those who attended Port Perry Fair this week got a thrill for sure. The weather was perfect, program good exhibits grand, and merry-go-round and swing, midway, spin-to-win and best of all, you could get your "pic- ture took" if you waited long enough. Congratulations Port Perry! Happy school days are here again. Some are happy, some are not. Tell you next week how many have en- rolled. Mrs. Utting, formerly Helen Claughton, of Toronto, visited last week with Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Stan Linton. . Mr, and Mrs. Dave Luery are away A motor trip to places unknown.
