Casey, of Ottawa, were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Clark, Ontario street. Miss Laurine Hutcheson, of Toronto, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Guy Raines. Alderman Wm. Collings and Mrs. Collings, of Toronto, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Frise, Port Perry Mr. and Mrs. Harold Burton and son left this week for England where they expect to spent a couple of years. Mr. Percy Corrin, of Toronto, a former resident of Port Perry, was in town this week looking up old ac- quaintances. The Eckardt Bell Ringers are ex- pected in Port Perry on Saturady, September 14th. The International Water Supply Ltd. promise to start drilling the test well in Port Perry prior to September 154. Mr. Bert Quackenbush, son and daughter, of Toronto, were in town on Wednesday looking up old acquaint- ances. Bert was a former resident. TLast week over one hundred acres were stook threshed in the vicinity of Myrtle. Crops are reported as the best for some time. The same evening that thieves broke into the four places at Brooklin, the elevator here and the C.P.R. tool house, were visited, presumably by the same men. Nothing of value was taken from the elevator, but two iron bars, an axe and a hammer were taken from the tool house, where the lock was broken to enter. Sincere sympathy is extended to Mrs. M. All are recov- ering nicely. An old landmark was removed last week, when the frame work of the barn which stood for over sixty years on the farm of Mrs. F. Briggs, was taken down and moved to the farm of Mr. Tripp north of Oshawa, who had purchased it at the sale a year ago. Another little birthday party was held last: Friday for Carol McCartney, when she became five years old, and five little girls were present, at her grandma Harrisons. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Nottingham accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Allen Me- Kenzie of Columbus, on a delightful motor trip to the East. Crossing into j the States at Gananoque, travelling to 'Ogdenburg, where they crossed back to Canada and on to Ottawa, where they "sat in" for a little while at the session of parliament. Then to Mon- treal where they took in several points of interest which included Saint Joseph's Shrine. Mr. and Mrs. David Luery left on Monday for a two week motor trip to the Maritimes, accompanied by friends from Whitby. Mrs, Harold Hamilton and Kathryn are spending part of this week with relatives in Oshawa, while her mother, Mrs. Moore, is taking care of the household here. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Squelch and Mrs. J. Weatherhogg, of Raglan, were visitors of Mrs. Long on Tuesday.
