MARRIED WINN--VINCENT A wedding of interest to [Eastern and Western Canada was solemnized on April 5th in Central Preshyterian Church, Vancouver by Dr. J. B. Skene. Frank M.-Winn, of Toronto, was wed to Marion Eyangeline Vincent, of Vancouver, formerly of Truro, N.S. The groom. was supported by Dr. Charles E. Borden, of the University of British "Columbia, and the matron of honour was Mrs."Charles Borden. The bride, who is a graduate of Col- _umbia University, N.Y., is Director of | the Vancouver Presbyterian Children's Center. : The groom, .who is a graduate of "the University "of Toronto, flew to 'Vancouver for the wedding and then returned to the East. The couple expect to make their home in the summer on the West coast. AVERAGE $232 AT WADDELL AUCTION SALE A total of $6330 for a general aver-|- age of $232 was realized on the sale of purebréd Holsteins at the dispersal sale of the herd of Bert Waddell, held April 4th at Sunderland. Highest price paid was $390 by M. Kennedy, 'Dunsford, for a bred heifer, Man-O- War Segis Queen. Top price for a milking female of $380 was paid by Willis Burke, Meadville, Pa., for the five year old cow Daisy Bloomfield PoscH. Burke also purchaséd a pair of three-year-olds at $365 and $320. Biggest buyer of the day was Fred Milne, Blackwater, who secured a total of 18 head for $1960. Eleven of these were heifer calves, one a yearling and one a mature cow. Milne paid the highest price for a heifer calf of $200. Kenneth Harrison, Sunderland, pur- chased four head for $790, these in- cluding a milking two-year-old at $230, a mature cow at $176 and a heifer calf at $130. Other buyers were Howard McMillan, Seagrave, .a yearling heifer at $275; W. J. Murphy, Lindsay, a pair of yearlings at $260 and $280. The two-year-old herd sire Ridgedale Rag Apple Papoose, brought $225 on the bid of Dean -W. M. Gra- ham, Sunderland. Eight milking females averaged $190; 3 bred heifers $255, one open heifer $206 and 10 calves $140. At the regulnr evening service of worship in St, John's Presbyterian Church last Sunday a Baptismal Font was: unveiled and dedicated "To the Glory of God and in grateful recogni- tion of the Services of those from this Church who took part in the Second The Font, the gift of the congrega- tion, is of solid oak construction. It was designed and built by the Glohe Furniture Co. of Chesley, Ont.--On the face panel is a bronze plaque bear- ing the inscription, the names of those who served, and a memoriam inscrip- tion followed by the names of the two men of our church who made the Su- preme Sacrifice, The service was conducted by the Minister, Rev. John. Riddell who preachied on the subject of the Baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist.
