G. I. T. MEETING The- worship service was in charge of Mrs, Starkey's group. Business wag discussed, and Miss Joblin told a story from the study book on China. Games were played and the meeting closed with the singing of "Taps". PORT PERRY ROD & GUN CLUB At a meeting of the executive held on Friday night, a schédule of activi- ties' were planned, among them being a fox drive, a fishing party at Lake Simcoe, and arrangement were made for casting practice at the High School Gym, Rules and regulations were drawn up which will be submitted to| a general meeting of the Club. WOMAN'S MISSIONARY SOCIETY The annual meeting of Oshawa Presbyterial Woman's Missionary So- ciety of the United Church of Canada, will be held in Whitby United Church, February 22nd," when Mrs. W. P. Joblin conducted a vgry impressive installation ceremony in the abgence of Rev. W. C. Smith. Mrs, Ronald Peel took charge of the worship service, and gave a very in- teresting chapter from the study book. A social half hour was enjoyed by all at the close of the meeting. The. annual congregational meeting meeting of Port Perry. United Church Eyes Examined Glasses complete, or lenses only, supplied where necessary, at reasonable prices,-- I. R. BENTLEY enjoyed a delicious meal. As the tables were cleared, Mr, W. M. Letcher led in" a sing-song with Mrs. Smith at the piano, and soon after the meeting got down to busi- ness with Rev, Clifford Smith in charge of the meeting. The report of the different organ- izationg/ and departments of the church showed a splendid year's work, In giving the report of the Session, Mr. R. D. Woon stated 42 members were added to the roll of - resident members, and 16 transferred to the non-resident list. - Nine were removed by death, making the present mem- bership 507 resident members. Mr. Clifford Love reported for the Missionary and Maintenance Fund, showing $1578.20 had been raised. A comparatively new organization, the 50-50 Club has been doing good {work among the young adults in ser- vice and recreation. They raised $109 and spent $82.15 in service work. The Woman's Missionary Society (Afternoon Auxiliary) report, given "|by Mrs. G. L. Jackson, showed this or- ganization had raised $380.77 for mis- sionary work. The Evening Auxiliary (W. M.S.) were very active during the year and raised $388.22 for the missionary cause, "Mrs. Charles Reesor, Supt. of the Mission Band, stated this organiza- tion for children had a very successful year and kept the rhembers busy, and at the same time r {ped $43 for mis- sions. The January meeting of the W. A was held on Wednesday with a large attendance. Mrs. J. L. Sweetman took charge of the meeting as Mrs. Glen Hood ws on the supper group. The meeting was opened with all singing und repeating the Lord's Prayex, The Scripture was read by Mrs. Maurice Fralick, Miss Nellie Melnychuk gave a talk on "Landscaping", being a sales lady for trees and shrubs. This-was much enjoyed. Mrs. "Alan Martyn gave a talk on China. The Centre school scholars sang "Susie", Diana in the Kitchen" and "Four Leaf Clover." We hope to hear them again some time soon. Mrs, Tetlow read a letter from Rev. F. G. and Mrs. Joblin, thanking the W.A. for their Christmas gift. _ Mrs. D. Hope expressed her thanks for the lovely basket of fruit and sweets.
