Existence of the Catholic Church, To-day a Miracle The Catholic Church has changed the face of the earth. It found the Roman Empire pagan, and it made it Christian--by means which, human- ly considered, were utterly inadequate. Its members were poor, its rules were often martyrs, and the religion they preached opposed to all that flatter human nature, since they inculcated the sternest virture, the loftiest mor- ality, and the greatest self-sacrifice. That the Catholic Church exists to- day at all is a miracle. Despite con- stant persecution, its hold on the hearts of men is ever increasing. The reason for this is that as water was heated in the tank theré was a precipitation of Scugog mud and, when hot water is drawn off, it is drawn from the upper portion of the tank this Scugog mud remained at the bottom. To rid your tank of this try the' following, or, plumber, or, Len Leahy, who, with his helpers has been engaged for months in getting the Scugog mud out of the mains and reservoir, for a better way. Go into, your cellar and close the valve which you will find on the sup- ply pipe entering your cellar, then open the lowest tap, which will likely be the one on the pipe going into the | heating coil in your furnace, after first having 'provided yourself with a small tub or pail, and let it run. To increase the flow, go upstairs to your; bathroom and open up the taps, as this will prevent a vacuum and thus allow the water to run off -more quickly. You will have to standby to empty the pails down your drain, and you will be surprised at the amount of dirt you will get. Before closing the bottom tap, open up the intake and let it run for a few minutes, this will take the last cupful of dirt and you can then close your taps and start drinking in é®nfidence after bidding good old Scugog faroweHl A Letter from Australia A letter from Australia alwa) puzzles us for a few minutes as being on the other side of the globe low the equator, it seems 50 down, Winter when we have summer, going north to get warm and south to get cool, asleep in bed when we are at our desk.
