Scugog Junior Homemakers On July 14th eight members of the Garden Club met at the home of Mrs. Boundey in Port Perry, for the first meeting of the new unit--The Garden Club. The meeting was opened with one verse of "Blest Be the Tie that Binds." This was followed by the Lord's Prayer. and insect pests. The same officers were elected. The roll call was an- swered with each girl naming the vegetdble she enjoyed most in her gar- den. The girls decided to have a home- baking sale on the lawn of Mr, E, H.' Gerrow's cottage at Platten's Island. Each girl to bring two articles--one to be- pastry. Mrs, Cooke gave a talk on fertilizers' . and transplanting. Mrs. Boundey de- | monstrated transplanting by giving each girl a choice of poincettd or kal-! anchoe to pot.
