The meeting was for the pur- pose of organizing the new Junior Farmer Machinery Club. There were approximately 30 Jr. Farmer, Exhibition of 1951 has awarded members in. attendance, 18 of whom joined the Machinery Club. Mr. Ralph Gregg, B.S.A., Field- man of the Ontario Department of Agriculture ,outlined the \Machin- ery, Club Program, and discussed in detail the repair"and adjust- ment of the farm. plow and mower. "There will be two summer. meet-| ings for the Junior Farmer- Ma- chinery Club. The preview was a group of 50 girls from all parts of Canada who assembled in Montreal for over- seas timvel wearing smart grey suits and black and white hats with purses to match, The girls, 16 and 17 years of age, were on their way to England on a tour sponsored by Garfield Weston, Canadian industrialist. For the past two years, Mr. Weston has taken boys on tour but this year he said that many boys were making tour under! other auspices, "and not enough is being done «for the girls". "PORT PERRY Selection of the girls was carried out by the Canadian Educational Association representing the 10 Pros vinces.. They picked what they des- cribed as responsible, observant girls who would communicate . the lessons of the trip to friends and family.
