They "have a nineteen-year-old daughter, Marilyn. ~The Bushnells live in Toronto. =} A ae ------ rE -- Prospect A gala evening was spent in Pros- pect school recently in honour of Mr. and Mrs, Nelson Cochrane who were married a short time ago. After a few lively dances, Nelson and Lois were called to the platform and Lloyd Smith read the following address: Dear Nelson and Lois; Once again, we of Prospect are privileged to gather in honour of one of our recently married young couples. May we say to you now, '"Congratu- lations and the very best of good wishes for your future." For the past year or two, we have missed you from our gatherings, Nel- son, but our memories do not fail us that badly. Well, we: remembér the many times in the past when you have helped to arrange such an oc- casion as this for another of our young Prospect folk. Nor can we forget the times when you helped in any undertaking of the church or the school, Least of all can we forget your friendly generosity when anyone in the neighbourhood needed help in anyway. Though you haven't beer in our immediate community, we have been keenly interested in your work, and wish you every success, Although you are no stranger to us, Lois, we are pleased to meet you in your new role, as Nelson's wife. You have had an enviable teaching career and we feel certain that the practical kpiowledge you have gained through your years of experience will enrich your lives and add to the dignity of your home. However, we should like to give you a little advice in the sub- ject: "How to Preserve a Husband" "Be careful in your selection. Do not choose too young and take only such varietites as have been reared in a good moral atmosphere. When once decided upon and selected, let that part remain forever settled, and give vour entire attention to preparation for domestic use. . Some insist on keeping them in a pickle; whilst others are constantly getting them in hot water, but this only makes them sour and hard, and sometimes bitter. Even poor varieties may be made ten- der and sweet and good by garnishing them with patience, well sweetened with miles and flavoured with kisses to taste; then wrap in a mantle of charity; keep warm with a steady fire of domestic devotion and serve with peaches and cream. When thus pre- pared they will keep for years and im- prove with age." Along with our sincere wishes for a happy wedded life, we ask you to acéept this desk and 'may you find 'it a constant reminder of the folks of Prospect who are always thinking of you. After cach had thanked the pegple in a suitable manner, everyone enjoy- ed a delicious lunch and a few more squares. Everyone- reported a good time, The 3¥.
